A new lease of life for my books

As you know, I was bitterly disappointed when Satalyte shut up shop as it might have meant the end of my admittedly short career as a publi...

About Me

My photo
I am a writer, editor, reviewer and dance teacher based in Perth, Western Australia.

My books

The first two novels of my trilogy, The Talismans, are not available as e-books at present, but I expect to get them back online shortly. However, I do have paperbacks of The Dagger of Dresnia at the low price of $25 including postage within Australia. I also have a short story, 'La Belle Dame', in print - see Mythic Resonance below. The best way to contact me is via Facebook!

Buy The Talismans

The first two books of The Talismans trilogy were published by Satalyte Publications, which, sadly, has gone out of business. I hope to see my books back on Amazon under a new publisher in the near future.

Aussie spec-fic - The List!

Over at http://www.alanbaxteronline.com/australian-scifi-fantasy-horror-megalist-xmas-books/ Alan Baxter has put together a huge list of books by Australian SF authors. Can there ever be a definitive list? Probably not, because books go out of print all the time and new ones appear daily - but this is a thoughtful list of currently available books, representative of all the speculative genres. No excuses, now - go and find your next read, or a suitable Christmas gift for a friend or family member! And if you have a favourite that is missing, tell Alan in a comment (or better still, ask the author to check it out and send Alan the same information as is contained in the existing entries) and perhaps he'll add it on the next update. I can see this growing into a valuable resource for readers and writers alike. There are other lists elsewhere but this one gives more information on individual entries.

Not always possible to obtain Aussie authors here. You seem to have a plethora of wonderful writers.

And we hardly hear of Canadian authors here, Jo. The Brits and the Americans seem to dominate the world market: everyone else can only hope to be known in a very small circle in their own country. There are exceptions, of course - Juliet Marillier and Glenda Larke are two of the handful of Aussie authors who are well-known overseas. You have to be published by one of the really big houses such as Tor or Harper Collins to get known internationally. Ebooks are changing that, of course, due to the international power of Amazon, but if you want to buy a print book in a real shop the choice of authors is limited.

Not a definitive list, no, since he's skipped mine(well, you can't read everything) but I see yours is in there. 😊 I'm still reading Bound, really must finish, perhaps after the AAs...

Alan is only putting up what he's sent for the list, Sue. I don't suppose he's read all the books - I certainly haven't, but I now know where to look when seeking something new!
