About Me

My photo
Perth, Western Australia, Australia
I am based in Perth, Western Australia. You might enjoy my books - The Dagger of Dresnia, the first book of the Talismans Trilogy, is available at all good online book shops as is Book two, The Cloak of Challiver. Book three, The Seer of Syland, is in preparation. I trained in piano and singing at the NSW Conservatorium of Music. I also trained in dance (Scully-Borovansky, WAAPA) and drama (NIDA). Since 1987 I have been writing reviews of performances in all genres for a variety of publications, including Music Maker, ArtsWest, Dance Australia, The Australian and others. Now semi-retired, I still write occasionally for the ArtsHub website.

My books

The first two books of my trilogy, The Talismans, (The Dagger of Dresnia, and book two, The Cloak of Challiver) are available in e-book format from Smashwords, Amazon and other online sellers. Book three of the trilogy, The Seer of Syland, is in preparation.I also have a short story, 'La Belle Dame', in print - see Mythic Resonance below - as well as well as a few poems in various places. The best way to contact me is via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/satimaflavell

Buy The Talismans

The first two books of The Talismans trilogy were published by Satalyte Publications, which, sadly, has gone out of business. However, The Dagger of Dresnia and The Cloak of Challiver are available as ebooks on the usual book-selling websites, and book three, The Seer of Syland, is in preparation. The easiest way to contact me is via Facebook.

Sherlock Holmes? Moi?

Now this one I don't believe:

Your result for The Literary Character Test...

Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes is the brilliant mastermind whose undoubted prowess in the field of forensics have entertained the world for decades. He is decidedly good in his actions, and his methodical thinking accents his ability, making him all the better at what he does. His ability to overcome any foe, and understand any crime is what makes him so well known, and it appears he will never fail.

Yeah, right, and on my days off I'm Jack the Ripper...

And here I came out as King Arthur. I will post these on my blog tomorrow maybe.

Hello Quizzy is an excellent timewaster, like Facebook:-) I have to restrain myself from doing test after test after test!

Must admit I got bored with Facebook. I don't go on it much at all any more.

I mainly play Scrabble on Facebook. If you enjoy playing, do challenge me sometime!

I'll do that one of these days Satima. I actually play Upwords on line with a friend locally. We play two games all the time. She wins more than I do though :(

I thought Watson was the brilliant one ...

I hate tests: started to hate them at school already. And one day let me tell you about my driving test ...

Tom Sawyer. I don't understand the result ... but then I never really understood the book either. :D

Jo, I forgot that you can't play internet Scrabble in Canada. Try me on Upwards sometime - I've never played that.

Marilyn, did you really sit a driving test? I never learnt to do anything more than make an automatic car go straight forwards:-(

I dunno, Hrugaar:-( I wanted to be a nice Austen heroine, dammit.

Not sure what you mean I can't play Internet Scrabble in Canada? I can certainly play the Facebook one. With Upwords I would have to send you the programme and detailed explanations on how to play as it is not longer supported by the makers.

Satima Flavell said...

I challenged you to a game and didn't get a message to say you couldn't play - but it says on the game "except USA and Canada" and last time I tried to play with a Canadian we weren't allowed. Fingers crossed!

OK I'll go check it out.
