A new lease of life for my books

About Me

My photo
I am a writer, editor, reviewer and dance teacher based in Perth, Western Australia.

My books

The first two novels of my trilogy, The Talismans, are not available as e-books at present, but I expect to get them back online shortly. However, I do have paperbacks of The Dagger of Dresnia at the low price of $25 including postage within Australia. I also have a short story, 'La Belle Dame', in print - see Mythic Resonance below. The best way to contact me is via Facebook!

Buy The Talismans

The first two books of The Talismans trilogy were published by Satalyte Publications, which, sadly, has gone out of business. I hope to see my books back on Amazon under a new publisher in the near future.

New web site

First of all, here is the promised pic of my new canine friend, Morgan (as in le Fay!)

With my son Scott's help, I've just launched my new web site. It's still a bit of a Work in Progress, but it has at least the beginnings of all the things I want to include. My very first blog over there follows on from the one I did here in August called The Promiscuous Artist. I was inspired by a post on my friend Fiona Leonard's Year in America blog, in which she poses the question "If you knew you could not fail, what would you do?" Please do check it out!

However, I've decided to leave my main blog here,at least for the time being, because I cannot get WordPress to do some of the things I've got used to doing on Blogger, such as putting pictures in the side column. WordPress, however, has the advantage of giving me extra pages so that I can run a "proper" web site in conjunction with the blog. As with most things in life, some kind of compromise had to be found, so I'll keep on blogging here but will put at least one post a month on the other one. It will always be writing-related, while this blog will continue to carry my meanderings on a variety of topics. I'll always give you a link when I update the new blog: here's the one for the new post. I've carried all my other writing-related posts over there, too.

Next week, new Specusphere. Nose down, tail up until then!

Interesting blog Satima, you sure have done a lot of things in your life. Rather than writing a spec fic novel, you should write a personal novel, I would think it would make a good story. I guess I won't visit your new page often as it is more of a business page, but I wish you every success there.

Astrology? What do you do there?

I've been into astrology for years and at various times it's provided a fair proportion of my income. Now I only do it by request, usually via email. I do either a full analysis of a natal chart which is useful for self-knowledge and personal growth at any age or a lifepath outline for young adults to help with career planning. Actually it's an interesting report to read in retrospect, too, but it's most useful to people aged about 18-50 who are career planning or needing to switch tracks.

Satima; I am confused now. Why do you need two blogs? Can you not have a web site with a blog all in one? Both are great, by the way, but which one are we to follow now and leave comments?

Each blog host has its pros and cons, I guess. Blogger is great (I much prefer it to Live Journal, forex) but it does not have the facility to include information pages. What I particularly like about it is that I can have feeds from all the blogs I follow on any host right here in the margin, which is very handy. Wordpress, OTOH, allows me to have pages - as many as I like! - of static content to provide information.
However, there doesn't seem to be a way to have live feed from other blogs with Wordpress, only a list of blogs.

I don't yet know what the answer is, so I'll keep both blogs going, putting writing posts on Wordpress (probably only once or twice a month) and putting everything else here. But the whole thing is still a WIP, so who knows?:-)

Oh dearie me! I am quite lost !!

Did you get lost on the new site, Marilyn? I am having such a lot of fun adding pages, but if my friends are going to be too confused by it I'd better pull back - or make a better navigation plan!
